Functional Tester/ Reston, VA (Hybrid)- Contractor

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Functional Tester to join our growing Quality Assurance team supporting the client. In this role, you will focus on borrower validation testing ensuring that systems, data flows, and applications responsible for verifying borrower information operate accurately, securely, and seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Test Plans: Perform end-to-end functional, regression, and integration testing on systems that validate borrower income, credit, employment, and identity data.
• Identify & Track Defects: Spot application defects, document clear steps to reproduce them, and track resolution through Jira (or similar tooling).
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with software developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and turn them into comprehensive test scenarios.
• Validate Business Rules: Ensure borrower validation algorithms and business logic strictly comply with Client guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Data Verification: Create and manage backend test data to validate loan origination and borrower verification workflows.
