Senior Functional Consultant Asset Finance
Location: Remote USA
Duration: Long Term
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Functional Consultant Asset Finance to support the implementation and delivery of end-to-end Asset Finance solutions.
This is a client-facing functional consulting role requiring strong knowledge of Asset Finance, Equipment Finance, Auto Leasing/Finance, contract servicing, asset and residual value management, and finance/accounting processes.
The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, technical consultants, and architects to understand business requirements, configure Asset Finance solutions, define functional designs, support testing, and ensure the solution meets business and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Finance Functional Consulting
  • Lead functional requirements-gathering and discovery workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Understand current-state business processes and define future-state Asset Finance processes.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, process flows, user stories, and functional design documents.
  • Configure Asset Finance solutions based on client requirements and product capabilities.
  • Identify functional gaps and recommend appropriate configuration or solution options.
  • Work closely with technical consultants and architects to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
Asset Finance Lifecycle
Provide functional expertise across key Asset Finance processes, including:
  • Quote-to-contract lifecycle
  • Finance and lease origination
  • Auto Leasing and Equipment Finance
  • Hire Purchase and loan structures
  • Asset setup and management
  • Residual Value Management
  • Contract activation and management
  • In-life contract servicing
  • Contract amendments and restructuring
  • Settlements and early termination
  • End-of-term / end-of-lease processing
  • Asset Finance accounting and financial processes
Solution Configuration & Design
  • Define business rules, workflows, product configurations, and functional setup.
  • Support the configuration of financing products, contracts, assets, pricing, payment structures, and servicing processes.
  • Perform functional gap analysis and recommend configuration versus customization approaches.
  • Participate in solution-design and design-authority discussions.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with Asset Finance industry practices and business requirements.
Data Migration & Integration Support
  • Define functional requirements for Asset Finance data migration and system integrations.
  • Support data mapping and validation of customer, contract, asset, payment, and financial data.
  • Work with technical teams responsible for APIs, interfaces, ETL, and data migration.
  • Validate migrated data from a business and functional perspective.
  • Support reconciliation and cutover-readiness activities.
Testing & Implementation
  • Develop and review functional test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and business validation.
  • Work with business users to validate end-to-end Asset Finance processes.
  • Support implementation, cutover, go-live, and post-production/hypercare activities.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a functional SME for Asset Finance throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Facilitate workshops and solution discussions with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Explain product capabilities, limitations, and solution options to clients.
  • Provide functional guidance and Asset Finance best practices.
  • Support project leadership with scope, dependencies, risks, and delivery planning.
  • Mentor junior functional consultants when required.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with Asset Finance, Equipment Finance, Auto Finance, Vehicle Finance, or Leasing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end Asset Finance contract lifecycle.
  • Experience with quote-to-contract, contract management, in-life servicing, and asset management.
  • Knowledge of Asset and Residual Value Management.
  • Understanding of Hire Purchase, loan, leasing, and equipment finance structures.
  • Strong understanding of Asset Finance accounting and financial processes.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and producing functional designs.
  • Hands-on experience with functional configuration of Asset Finance solutions.
  • Experience supporting data migration, mapping, validation, and reconciliation from a functional perspective.
  • Experience with SIT/UAT, defect management, cutover, and implementation support.
  • Strong client-facing consulting, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work across different time zones when required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Puerto Rico based on project requirements.
Technical Awareness
The Functional Consultant does not need to be a hands-on integration developer or technical architect but should have sufficient understanding of:
  • SQL and data structures
  • APIs and system integrations
  • XML / Web Services
  • ETL and data migration
  • Interface requirements
  • Enterprise application architecture
The consultant should be able to work effectively with technical teams and explain Asset Finance business requirements in sufficient detail for technical implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering Asset Finance implementations within a consulting or Professional Services environment.
  • Experience leading functional workstreams.
  • Experience working with enterprise Asset Finance/Leasing platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud-based enterprise solutions and modern integration architectures.
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale Asset Finance transformation or modernization programs.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong Asset Finance Functional SME who has participated in multiple implementation projects and understands how a financing contract moves from quote and origination through contract activation, servicing, accounting, and end-of-term processing.
They should be comfortable leading client workshops, challenging and refining business requirements, configuring Asset Finance solutions, producing functional designs, supporting data migration and testing, and working closely with technical teams throughout implementation.
