FULLY REMOTE - Bankruptcy Attorney - Chapters 7, 11 & 13

A sophisticated North Carolina business-law boutique is conducting an urgent, confidential search for an experienced bankruptcy attorney. The position may be performed fully remotely.

The Opportunity

This role is for a bankruptcy lawyer with hands-on experience across Chapters 7, 11, and 13 who can take meaningful ownership of matters for debtors, creditors, trustees, businesses, and other stakeholders. The attorney will join an established practice handling complex insolvency, restructuring, and bankruptcy-related disputes.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage bankruptcy matters from initial strategy through confirmation, discharge, dismissal, sale, settlement, or other resolution.
  • Represent clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases, including contested matters and adversary proceedings.
  • Draft petitions, schedules, plans, motions, objections, briefs, discovery, settlement documents, and related filings.
  • Advise debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, and business stakeholders regarding insolvency, restructuring, workouts, and asset sales.
  • Appear in bankruptcy court, conduct negotiations, manage deadlines, and communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals across bankruptcy, litigation, corporate, and real-estate matters.
  • At least 4 years of bankruptcy-law experience.
  • Required: substantive experience with Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 matters.
  • Active North Carolina law license, or ability to become admitted promptly.
  • Strong academic credentials and outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage matters independently in a fully remote environment while remaining highly responsive and collaborative.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a practical, client-focused approach.
  • Fully remote work arrangement with affiliation to the Raleigh or Winston-Salem office.
  • Sophisticated matters and direct client responsibility in a collegial, team-oriented boutique setting.
  • A platform built by experienced attorneys that combines complex work with fewer institutional layers.
