OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The Department of Special Services is looking for a Leave Replacement School Social Worker. Candidates should have strong communication skills for working with families, students, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid New Jersey Educational Services Endorsement - School Counselor.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following experiences are an integral part of the position:

  • Case Management responsibilities for assigned students and families.
  • Communicates with parents and families to provide information regarding academic and social-emotional needs of families.
  • Consults with building level administration and staff to ensure the fidelity of student's educational programing.
  • Maintains accurate paperwork and documentation.
  • Works as a member of the multidisciplinary team to oversee the IEP process and make recommendations for academic programing.
  • Updates IEP documents as required by NJAC 6A:14 for assigned students and families.
  • Partners with community organizations and makes referrals as necessary to assist students with addressing barriers to educational programming.
  • Communicates with parents and families to provide information regarding academic and social-emotional needs of families.
  • Flexibility to multitask in multiple buildings.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Based on annual salary guide range of $60,525 - $110,222, commensurate with education and experience as per the negotiated contract.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical, prescription, vision and dental benefits. Sick, personal, family illness, and bereavement allotments are included.
