    Description

    Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Senior Electrical Wiring Technicians for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. The Full-time Senior Electrical Technicians will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and the bench. The Full-time Senior Electrical Technicians will follow instructions as provided through blueprints, bill of materials, schematics, or piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). The Full-time Senior Electrical Technicians will follow procedures to set up and run quality checks on various wiring harnesses. The Full-time Senior Electrical Technicians will mentor and oversee team member’s technical deliverables to ensure standards are met. This Full-time Senior Electrical Technicians position offers an AM day shift and is based out of Allen Park, MI.     Shift:
    • AM day shift: 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday, plus overtime as needed)
    Responsibilities:
    • Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests, reverse engineer, and calibrate tools for wiring and components using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses)
    • Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications
    • Test wiring and components for correct operation using a schematic and diagnostic equipment
    • Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal, create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses
    • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
    • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team
    • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up
     
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 8 years of electrical work experience
    • Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners
    • Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems with ability to crimp and solder wires. 
    • Proficient with hand and power tools. Able to operate vehicle lifts
    • Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic part documentation
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related
    • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Experience installing components on circuit boards
    • Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.
