Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Valid RN nursing license recognized in Texas.
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS certification, ACLS certification (preferred), and SAMA certification (preferred, but can be provided by the facility).
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work daytime shifts; reliable transportation within 35-40 minutes of the facility; strong background in psychiatric, mental health, and/or ER settings; excellent communication and crisis intervention skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients in an emergency/crisis setting, including mental health assessments and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions.
  • Execute crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Participate in training and orientation for new staff on the unit’s protocols and procedures.
