About Matron of Familyhood

Matron of Familyhood is a boutique placement agency specializing in continuity of care and long-term professional matches within private homes. Many families engage with us during pregnancy or early postpartum and transition into long-term nanny support as their household needs evolve.

We prioritize thoughtful introductions, high professional standards, and stable placements. Our network is intentionally curated to ensure discretion, reliability, and strong alignment between families and caregivers.

Nannies placed through Matron of Familyhood are employed directly by the hiring family as W-2 household employees. Matron of Familyhood is not the employer of record.

Our Approach to Continuity

Children thrive in stable, emotionally responsive environments. Consistent caregiving supports healthy nervous system regulation, executive functioning, and developmental confidence.

Families in the Dripping Springs area often value:

• Clear, respectful communication
• Reliability and strong follow-through
• Structured routines with flexibility
• Developmentally appropriate engagement
• Initiative within private home environments
• Long-term partnership and stability

Many homes in this area offer more space and acreage; candidates should be comfortable with independent, self-directed work environments.

Our Professional Standards

We regard nannying as a professional career and encourage employment practices that support sustainability and long-term success.

We strongly encourage:

• Guaranteed hours
• Written employment agreements
• Legal payroll practices (W-2 household employment)
• Clear professional boundaries
• Mutual accountability

These standards support stable and transparent working relationships.

Employment Structure

All nannies placed through Matron of Familyhood are employed directly by the hiring family as W-2 household employees.

The hiring family serves as the employer of record and is responsible for payroll, tax withholding, unemployment, workers' compensation (where applicable), supervision, and benefits.

Compensation, schedule, guaranteed hours, and employment terms are negotiated directly between the nanny and the family prior to hire.

Matron of Familyhood facilitates introductions but does not supervise or employ nannies after placement.

Trial Period

Many families begin with a mutually agreed, paid trial period to assess fit and expectations. Trial terms are negotiated directly between the nanny and family.

Ongoing Support

While families are the direct employer, Matron of Familyhood remains available to facilitate professional communication and support stable, long-term working relationships.

Screening Process

Our screening process may include application review, interviews, professional reference checks, and background screening conducted with candidate consent and in accordance with applicable law. Final hiring decisions are made solely by the family.

Work Authorization

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The hiring family completes employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) in accordance with federal law.

Next Step

We review all applications carefully and contact candidates directly when their experience aligns with a current or upcoming family need.

Matron of Familyhood is an equal opportunity organization. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other status protected by applicable law.
