Description

This position is for a full-time PM shift Custodian at the Jr/Sr High School. This position works Monday through Friday 2:30-10:30 p.m. during the school year and day shift hours in the summer. During the school year, there will be a $1 shift differential on any days the Custodian works the PM shift. PM Custodians often work day shift hours on non-student days.

The Waupun Area School District is a 4K-12 school district serving a population of 1900 students in South Central Wisconsin. Located conveniently on Hwy 151, Waupun is only 45 minutes north of Madison and 20 minutes south of Fond du Lac. WASD is home to four schools, including a charter school in Fox Lake.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness and safety of an assigned facility and grounds.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform general custodian duties (sweep, dust, mop, scrub, seal, buff, vacuum, fix, replace, repair, etc.)

Perform ground maintenance (mow, water, sweep, week, snow/ice removal, etc.)

Use safety precautions when operating of cleaning/maintenance equipment

Use safety precautions when using cleaning supplies/equipment

Perform building inspections to ensure building security

Prepare school facilities for special occasions (graduations, conferences, etc.)

Move furniture and equipment

Requires extensive walking, stooping, pushing, carrying, climbing, bending, and lifting

Climb ladders, stairs, and stand for prolonged periods of time

Work outdoors under adverse weather conditions

Participate in training sessions and acquire skills in the operation of cleaning and maintenance procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
