Position Overview
The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan in a collaborative family practice environment. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, self-motivated clinician who thrives in an independent practice setting while working closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
- Perform physical examinations and comprehensive patient assessments
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Prescribe medications in accordance with California laws and organizational protocols
- Provide preventive healthcare, wellness counseling, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Accurately document patient encounters within the electronic medical record
- Maintain compliance with all organizational policies and state and federal regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs
- Promote a positive, patient-focused healthcare experience
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant (PA) License
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current NCCPA certification
- Current, unrestricted DEA registration for California with prescriptive authority
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum of two years of Physician Assistant experience
- Family Practice or Primary Care experience preferred
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and the healthcare team
- Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and organizational skills
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
