Physical Therapist Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver physical therapy treatments and therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes to the therapy team.
  • Accurately document patient care, progress notes, and treatment activities.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, exercises, and injury prevention techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Utah Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or orthopedic settings.
  • Strong patient-centered care approach.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of patient populations and treatment plans.
  • Excellent time-management and documentation skills.
