Full-Time LPN Instructor

SUMMARY: Reports to and works under the direction of the RN Manager of Clinical Education. The LPN Instructor is responsible for providing comprehensive academic and clinical instruction to Nurse Aide students in accordance with applicable Department of Public Health (DPH) and Office of Private Occupational School Education regulations and standards. The instructor supports students in developing the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care in health care and human services settings. The instructor delivers current and relevant health care information, facilitates classroom and clinical learning experiences, and ensures instruction is provided in a manner that promotes student engagement, competency, and successful preparation for entry into the health care or human services field.

· Deliver and facilitate the approved curriculum for health care training programs within LifeStream’s Employment and Training Division and the community, in accordance with applicable regulatory and program standards.

· Provide comprehensive classroom and clinical instruction that supports students in developing the knowledge, skills, competencies, and professional behaviors necessary for success in the health care field.

· Demonstrate, teach, and evaluate hands-on clinical skills and practical competencies required for safe, effective, and appropriate patient care.

· Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records of student attendance, academic and clinical progress, competency assessments, and other required documentation.

· Monitor and evaluate student performance in both academic and clinical settings and provide constructive feedback and guidance to support successful completion of program requirements.

· Provide individualized tutoring, remediation, and academic or clinical support to students as needed to promote learning and competency achievement.

· Collaborate with program staff and clinical partners to ensure students receive appropriate learning experiences and support throughout the program.

· Prepare students for required examinations, skills evaluations, and other assessments necessary for successful completion of the program and entry into the health care workforce.

· Ensure instruction, clinical activities, student evaluation, and documentation are conducted in compliance with applicable Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of Private Occupational School Education and other relevant regulatory requirements.

· Maintain current knowledge of health care practices, standards, regulations, and emerging information to ensure instructional content and clinical training remain accurate and relevant to real life experiences.

· Promote a positive, respectful, inclusive, and professional learning environment that supports student engagement, accountability, and successful completion of program objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

· Maintenance of an acceptable CORI

· Valid Driver’s license

· Negative drug screen

· Use of personal vehicle for work purposes

· Initial Physical Exam

· Candidate must be certified by assigned entity of their presentation

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· Current Massachusetts LPN license

· Experience in a health care setting; experience in long-term care, acute care, home health, or community-based care preferred.

· Experience providing instruction, training, clinical supervision, or mentoring of nursing assistants, health care students, or other adult learners preferred.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Demonstrated history of quality work performance and teamwork in previous positions
