Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM (live-out); summer hours approximately 10:00 AM–6:00 PM; occasional overnight coverage when both parents travel

Household & Family Assistant
A busy, warm family in Pittsford, NY is looking for a long-term, live-out Household & Family Assistant to keep their home running smoothly and support their three school-aged children (ages 9, 12, and 16). The role is about 70% household and housekeeping support and 30% childcare. From 11:00 AM until about 2:00–3:00 PM, you’ll focus on the home: laundry, dishes, tidying the kids’ rooms and common areas, putting up and taking down holiday decorations, keeping an eye on the family’s two friendly, well-behaved doodles, and running errands as needed. From about 3:00–7:00 PM, you’ll work with Mom to drive the children to and from their activities, all within about 30 minutes of the home, and make sure homework gets done. The children are fairly independent, so the focus is on organization and keeping everyone on track. The parents are hands-on and value clear, consistent communication. They’re looking for someone who takes ownership, anticipates needs, and stays organized in a fast-moving home. A family vehicle is provided for all job-related driving.

Responsibilities:
- Handle the family’s laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away
- Keep up with dishes and keep the kitchen tidy throughout the day
- Tidy and organize the children’s rooms and the home’s common areas
- Put up and take down seasonal holiday decorations, and help with household organizing projects
- Keep an eye on the dogs during the day and let them out as needed
- Run errands, including order pickups, dry cleaning, and pharmacy pickups
- Take household inventory and reorder supplies as needed, including grocery ordering through Instacart
- Sort incoming mail and manage trash and recycling
- Coordinate with maintenance crews and household vendors
- Help manage the family calendar and coordinate the children’s schedules and activities
- Work with Mom to drive the children to and from after-school activities and friends’ homes in the family vehicle
- Meet the children after school, with occasional school pickups, and make sure homework gets done
- Keep healthy snacks on hand and encourage the kids to make healthy choices (no meal prep required)
- Provide 24-hour care when both parents travel for work, a few times a year
- Accompany the children to family clubs when needed
- Keep the parents updated on schedules, activities, and household needs
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Household Assistant, Family Assistant, Housekeeper, Nanny, or in a similar household role with school-aged children and teens
- Comfortable with daily housekeeping tasks, including laundry, dishes, and tidying
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, conscientious, and proactive, with the ability to take initiative
- Comfortable with technology, including family calendar apps and online ordering
- Comfortable with dogs
- Available for occasional overnight coverage
- Long-term commitment (ideally 1+ years)
- Some college education is a plus
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
