Emergency Department RN Job Description
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will provide rapid assessment, critical thinking, and lifesaving interventions in a fast-paced emergency room environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity
Provide emergency nursing care to trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatric, and medical-surgical patients
Initiate IV access, administer medications, and manage emergency interventions
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to life-threatening conditions
Assist with trauma resuscitations and critical procedures
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
Ensure patient safety and uphold evidence-based emergency nursing practices

Education & Certification Requirements

Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred
Minimum 12 years of Emergency Department or high-acuity acute care experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment, multitasking ability, and critical thinking skills
