About the Role
As a Cook at the Marriott Colorado Springs, you will be responsible for preparing all food items based on standardized recipes across our Restaurant and Dining Outlet, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquet operations. You will maintain, set up, and execute food production and quality control across multiple stations including broiler, saute, grill, and others as needed, and you will uphold the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards that define a professional kitchen operation.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable working at a high level of efficiency and quality during service, who takes ownership of their station from setup to breakdown, and who brings a positive, team-first attitude to every interaction with guests and fellow associates. You will be working across multiple outlets and functions depending on the needs of the operation, which means flexibility and a willingness to step in wherever you are needed are essential parts of the job.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related culinary field is preferred
Food Handler Certification is required and must comply with state requirements; can be provided by the hotel if not currently held
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment is preferred
Working knowledge of food safety, proper storage and rotation procedures, and kitchen sanitation standards
Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and production charts accurately
Ability to convey information and ideas clearly to team members and leadership
Ability to evaluate options and make quick, accurate decisions in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining composure and quality standards
Ability to stand and move for the full duration of a shift in a high-heat, fast-paced kitchen environment
Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. as needed
Comfortable with bending, reaching, and sustained physical activity throughout the shift
Flexible availability to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active role for the full duration of every shift. You should be comfortable standing and moving continuously in a high-heat, fast-paced kitchen environment, lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs., and bending and reaching throughout the course of your work. Physical stamina and comfort with sustained activity at a consistent pace are important parts of performing this role well.
