Piper Companies is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer for an insurance and annuities company located in the Raleigh-Durham Area. The Full Stack Software Engineer will revolve primarily around a Node.js backend and a React.js front end while also supporting the team on various side projects, proof of concepts, and production maintenance The Full Stack Software Engineer role is a hybrid position located in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities of the Full Stack Software Engineer:
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with a primary focus on Node.js back-end services and React.js front-end development.
Build and support scalable REST APIs and user-facing applications that deliver reliable and high-performing experiences.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues, bugs, and application performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, communicate solutions, and deliver business-critical features.
Contribute to unit testing, test automation, and technical documentation to ensure software quality and maintainability.
Participate in architecture discussions, proof-of-concept initiatives, and continuous improvements while taking ownership of deliverables.
Requirements of the Full Stack Software Engineer:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
2-5 years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with a stronger focus on back-end development.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including hands-on experience with Node.js and modern front-end frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
Experience designing and developing scalable REST APIs, working with SQL and relational databases, and building end-to-end web applications.
Cloud experience with AWS (preferred), including deploying, monitoring, and supporting cloud-based applications.
Compensation for the Full Stack Software Engineer:
$110,000-$130,000 base
7.5% LTIP
