Position: Staff Software Engineer, Mobile (Android, Kotlin, Full Stack)
Type:Contract
Compensation:$40–$60/hour
Location:Remote
Commitment:40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Build and ship features for native mobile apps, primarily Android in Kotlin.
• Contribute across backend services, APIs, and web applications when needed.
• Use AI-powered developer tools to navigate unfamiliar code and ensure quality.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, and production support.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and partner engineering teams to foster growth.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on native mobile experience with Android, Kotlin, and Jetpack.
• Experience with backend services, APIs, or web apps.
• Solid engineering fundamentals: design, testing, and debugging.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools like Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
• Ability to engage reliably for 40 hours/week during weekdays.
• Clear communication and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred

• Exposure to LLM-powered features such as RAG, embeddings, or agents.
• Experience with accessibility standards or apps with accounts, payments, or orders.

Compensation & Legal

• W-2 employment with Cincinnatus LLC.
• Paid weekly.
