Full Stack Developer
WILLBANKS METALS INC
Fort Worth, TX
Willbanks Metals is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join a small, high-output development team building mission-critical software for a regional steel service center. This position will support Atlas, our warehouse orchestration and logistics platform, along with additional operational tools spanning procurement, dispatch, and transport optimization. |
Position Overview. This is a hands-on role for a builder who enjoys problem decomposition, solution design, and rapid delivery. The ideal candidate is energized by creating software from the ground up in a domain where technology has a direct impact on daily business operations. The team moves quickly, ships often, and leverages AI-assisted development tools to multiply output and accelerate iteration.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and extend full-stack web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL and SQL databases, including real-time subscriptions, row-level security, and role-based access controls.
• Develop features end-to-end, from schema design and API logic through polished user interfaces.
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders, operations leaders, and warehouse teams to gather requirements and deliver practical software solutions.
• Participate in rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles where demos help drive direction and decision-making.
• Integrate with ERP systems, EDI feeds, and third-party logistics tools.
• Support deployment, security, and storage within the Azure ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
Experience | 2+ years of professional experience building web applications, or equivalent demonstrable project work. |
Technical Stack | Strong working knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling. |
Data | Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL databases. |
Work Style | Comfort working in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve quickly. |
AI-Assisted Development | Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools. |
Ownership | Ability to own all steps in a project, including problem decomposition, data analysis, system architecture, development, testing, iteration, and problem solving. |
Delivery Mindset | Evidence of thinking in terms of solutions and outcomes, not just task completion. |
Autonomy | Ability to own features from concept through production with minimal hand-holding. |
Preferred Qualifications
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar solutions.
• Experience with Next.js, C#, or .NET.
• Exposure to manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations environments.
• Familiarity with operations research tools or other optimization software.
• Experience using Python for data analysis or optimization tooling.
• Background in startup or small-team environments where individuals wear multiple hats.
Compensation and Benefits
Benefits are offered to eligible employees. Group benefits become available after 60 days of employment and include medical, dental, vision, life, hospital, accident, critical illness, and short- and long-term disability insurance. A 401(k) retirement plan becomes available after 6 months of employment and includes an employer match of up to 4%, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
Work Environment
• Small, collaborative team environment where contributions are visible and meaningful.
• Fast development tempo with high priority on hitting deliverable timelines.
• On-site or hybrid work arrangement in the Fort Worth area, based on business needs.
• Direct exposure to operational decision-making and real-world business impact.
