    Your remit

    • Operational leadership: Oversee safety, housekeeping, 5S/Lean, on-time customer delivery, efficiency/effectiveness, cost control, inventory accuracy, shipping, receiving, employee development, and compliance.
    • Talent & performance: Hire with the Operations Manager and HR; conduct reviews; set measurable goals aligned to Operations, UPM, and ONI priorities; build training and growth plans; coach through performance or behavior issues.
    • Regulatory ownership: Full accountability for OSHA and EPA compliance in warehouse operations.
    • Continuous Improvement: Establish a CI culture; implement and sustain 5S/Lean to boost productivity and reduce waste.
    • Throughput & KPIs: Execute weekly production and shipping plans; monitor daily-to-annual KPIs; close gaps with targeted actions.
    • Cost management: Launch and track savings/avoidance initiatives to achieve year-over-year reductions in operating expense.
    • Inventory stewardship: Protect integrity and accuracy; resolve variances; maintain strong controls.
    • Quality & ethics: Enforce ISO requirements; model the UPM and ONI Code of Conduct and Ethics.

    Who you are

    • A coach with excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Calm under pressure; organized problem-solver with sharp analytical/interpretive ability.
    • Collaborative, results-driven; fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Background we’re looking for

    • Associate Degree in a related field or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
    • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt required (or a defined certification path).
    • 5+ years of effective leadership.
    • 5+ years in manufacturing, distribution, and/or warehousing.

    Core skills

    • Language: Read/interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports/correspondence; present to groups.
    • Math: Perform basic arithmetic with fractions/decimals; compute rate, ratio, percent; interpret bar graphs.
    • Reasoning: Follow written/oral/diagrammed instructions and solve problems with multiple concrete variables in standardized settings.
    • Certificates/Licenses: Please advise.

    Supervision

    Direct and indirect reports vary by site. You’ll handle training, work planning/assignment/direction, performance appraisals, and the resolution of complaints in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.

    Second Shift: M-Th 3pm - 1:30am
