    Senior Supply Analyst – Petroleum
    Location: Falls Church, VA / Hybrid
    Senior Supply Analyst – Petroleum
    Élan Partners is seeking a Fuel Supply Analyst for a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the petroleum/fuel industry. This is a hands-on role supporting daily fuel supply operations, pricing, invoice reconciliation, supplier coordination, and internal business teams.
    The ideal candidate will have strong petroleum industry experience, hands-on knowledge of PDI and Axxis, advanced Excel skills, and experience with fuel pricing and market indices. This position works closely with accounting, transportation, operations, suppliers, and other internal teams to research and resolve day-to-day supply and pricing issues.
    This role can be remote, although candidates should be available to spend time onsite during the initial onboarding and training period as needed.
    Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of experience in petroleum supply, fuel pricing, supply analysis, fuel procurement, petroleum accounting, or a closely related function.
    • Hands-on PDI experience is required.
    • Hands-on Axxis experience is required.
    • Strong understanding of petroleum/fuel pricing and pricing indices.
    • Experience working with petroleum market data and tools such as Argus and OPIS.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to build and maintain spreadsheets and analyze large amounts of pricing and transactional data.
    • Experience reconciling invoices, researching pricing discrepancies, and resolving data issues.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to work effectively across accounting, transportation, supply, operations, and external suppliers.
    • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to operational issues.
    Responsibilities
    • Support daily petroleum supply operations and serve as a key point of contact for supply-related issues across accounting, transportation, operations, and other internal teams.
    • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by comparing supplier invoices, pricing, and transactional data against information maintained within internal systems.
    • Maintain fuel pricing and pricing indices within PDI and related petroleum systems.
    • Update pricing to reflect changes in market indices, tariffs, pipeline costs, differentials, and other supply-related adjustments.
    • Pull and analyze supply, pricing, inventory, and transactional data from PDI, Axxis, Argus, OPIS, and other petroleum industry platforms.
    • Build and maintain Excel spreadsheets used to analyze pricing, reconcile data, research discrepancies, and support daily supply activities.
    • Work directly with suppliers regarding pricing, supply questions, discrepancies, and smaller-volume purchasing needs.
    • Research and resolve issues involving supplier pricing, transportation costs, invoices, and system data.
    • Partner closely with accounting to ensure accurate supplier billing and reconciliation.
    • Coordinate with transportation and operations teams to address supply and delivery issues.
    • Support management with petroleum pricing and market information as needed.
    • Manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive issues in a fast-paced petroleum supply environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and/or other refined petroleum products.
    • Experience maintaining petroleum pricing indices and applying tariff, pipeline, freight, or other pricing adjustments.
    • Previous experience in both petroleum accounting and supply operations.
    • Experience working directly with fuel suppliers and transportation providers.
    • Familiarity with additional petroleum pricing and supply platforms.
    Education
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant petroleum supply, pricing, accounting, and systems experience will be strongly considered in lieu of a degree.
