Position Title: Fuel Handling Electrical Design Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Fuel Handling Electrical Design Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:- Perform the electrical design from requirements definition through final design release for fuel handling systems and equipment.
- Develop design deliverables including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, cable schedules, grounding/bonding plans, instrumentation specifications, and interface control documents.
- Ensure effective integration of electrical systems with mechanical designs and plant infrastructure.
- Apply relevant codes and standards, including IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and nuclear-specific requirements such as IEEE 603, ASME NQA-1, and applicable NRC regulatory guidance.
- Support procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities, including vendor coordination and design change management.
- Participate in and lead design reviews, hazard analyses, and system readiness reviews.
- Support testing and verification activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Job Qualifications:- Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience, with nuclear industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD tools and design documentation standards.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- Experience with safety-related and non-safety-related system design under ASME NQA-1 quality programs.
- Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and applicable nuclear codes and standards.
- Travel Required: 0-15%.
