Position Description
DEFINITION:
Provide instruction to college students through lectures, demonstrations, and studio exercises, with a focus on painting and printmaking. Teach courses such as Art Appreciation, Art History l and ll, Printmaking I and II, Painting l and ll, Drawing I and ll, 2D and 3D Design, and, integrating a broad understanding of visual arts disciplines.

Essential Functions:

Instructional modalities are assigned by the college in alignment with student demand and program needs.
Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students
Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
Develop and prepare supplement materials to enhance textbook lessons
Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade record individual scores
Provide classroom demonstrations on various equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments to provide hands-on experience as appropriate
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
Maintain and submit all required paperwork in a neat, accurate, and timely fashion, including but not limited to: Class rosters, registration forms, pay sheets, attendance forms, and grade rosters
Stay abreast of new developments and changes in the academic field, including
awareness of the NCCCS student success rate average(s).
Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to the required teaching area and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines
Serve classroom assigned on any of CFCC's campus locations: Downtown, North campus, Burgaw campus, Surf City Campus, or other satellite campus locations.
Keep studio spaces clean and safe
Recruit students for the AFA Visual Art program
Other Important Functions:
? This is a 30-hour per week ON CAMPUS commitment offering courses on varying modalities
