The Accounting Associate is responsible for the monthly preparation of resident bills, review claims for Medicare and Medicaid billing, maintain logs for census, billing and receipts and timely collection of all outstanding accounts receivable. The position will also assist in various projects in all areas of the accounting department, which includes but not limited to financial reviews and fixed assets. The position will also cross training in all tasks in the accounting department.

Position Requirements or Qualifications:
Responsibilities (the following is an overview of the responsibilities of the position and should not be considered to be all inclusive):
- Responsible for the monthly preparation of resident and non-resident bills including Collection of charge slips from various departments, calculation of credits for unused meals, entry of charges into the automated accounting system, entry of resident population changes into the automated accounting system, and preparation and distribution of bills to residents and non-residents.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist with preparation and submission of Medicare and Medicaid invoices including maintenance logs documenting billings and receipts.
- Responsible for all resident additions, deletions and changes to dining software system.
- Responsible for the timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable.
- Assist skilled care, personal care, and therapy areas of Homestead Village in working with insurance organizations to provide (pre) authorizations for therapies and services.
- Perform other staff functions, such as sorting department mail and photocopying documents.
- Reconcile assigned accounts accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare and distribute reports for departments and leadership as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
