Position Summary:
The FSQA Specialist I - Exports is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing all export and shipping documentation to support the smooth movement of protein (meat, poultry, seafood, produce, etc.) shipments. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced trading environment.
What you’ll do:
  • Must stay up to date on FSIS requirement updates through the FSIS website and communications with CSIs and DVMs
  • Will collect information daily of products being shipped out of the country to fulfill FSIS and PHIS documentation.
  • Verify that all FSIS applications are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Supervisor to complete FSIS applications and health certificates.
  • Utilize label printers effectively for labeling USDA marks with consistency and accuracy
  • Must be able to use a typewriter to complete FSIS health certificates
  • Will support information collection of products being shipped out of the country to coordinate inspections and certificate request with NOAA.
  • Must be able to calculate information of product establishments quickly and efficiently, including weights and case counts for each load
  • Will support data collection for produce exports.
  • Handle sales team contact and other priority communication using strong time management skills
  • Maintain records of critical documentation pertaining to exports which includes phytosanitary certificates, field inspections, Import permits, lab analysis certificates, or any other document as applicable.
  • Classify products under the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule and global tariff schedules to ensure accurate duty treatment and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct and/or review regulatory inspections records as required.
  • Investigate, log, track, and trend customer complaints. Support Corrective actions as needed.
  • Support facility compliance with policy and regulations through onsite monitoring and/or verification activities.
  • Ability to perform Food safety and Quality Management training per schedule
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives 

About you:
  • Must have experience in exports, with a specific preference in protein exports.
  • Background and experience working in an environment and processes regulated by the USDA.
  • Speed and accuracy in mathematics are necessary. Ability to perform and verify weight conversions between pounds and kilograms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have excellent computer skills with a strong background in Microsoft Office products, specifically proficient in Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to dynamic market conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Initiative to research and verify information from multiple reliable sources.
