Description

About Zettabyte

  • AI computing company: we turn GPU hardware into reliable, high-utilisation AI compute through software, orchestration and full lifecycle operations
  • What we offer: enterprise GPU cloud and AI inference, software for data centre owners to run their own GPU clouds, turnkey and sovereign AI data centres, edge computing and GPU financing
  • Who we work with: GPU owners, data centre operators, enterprises, OEMs, integrators and financiers across multiple markets
  • How we work: fast-moving and high-accountability; we value speed, ambition, clarity, ownership and measurable outcomes

Role Summary

The Frontend Engineer designs and implements the user interfaces of Zettabyte's platform, owning the full path from design to API integration.

The role shapes both how the interface looks and how it communicates with the GPU infrastructure behind it.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Co-CTO and CPO

Key Responsibilities

  • Design: design user interfaces and workflows in Figma, creating mockups and prototypes.
  • Implementation: implement the designs in Vue.js (primary) and Next.js.
  • API collaboration: work with backend engineers to design and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • State and data: build robust state management and data fetching layers for complex UI requirements.
  • Design to code: own the full design-to-code pipeline for new features.
  • Dashboards: create intuitive dashboards and visualisations using real-time API data.
  • Resilience: handle API error states, loading patterns and data synchronisation well.
  • User research: conduct user research, create user flows, iterate on feedback and balance aesthetics with performance.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of combined experience in frontend development and UI/UX design
  • Strong Vue.js (Vue 3 preferred), React or Next.js, TypeScript and modern CSS
  • Experience with API integration, async data handling and state management (Pinia, Vuex, Redux)
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, GraphQL and WebSocket connections, and the ability to give API feedback to backend teams
  • Proficiency in Figma (or similar) for production-ready designs
  • A portfolio showing both design work and implemented projects
  • Understanding of typography, colour theory, spacing and visual hierarchy, and experience owning features from concept to implementation

Bonus Qualifications

  • API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia) and OpenAPI or Swagger documentation
  • Real-time data visualisation experience
  • Formal design education, an HCI background or design systems experience
  • Background in developer tools or technical product design

What Success Looks Like (First 90 to 180 Days)

  • New platform features shipped from Figma to production
  • Dashboards show real-time data reliably, with clean error and loading states
  • User research findings reflected in the product
  • A shared component library or design system started or extended

Why This Role Matters

  • Look and logic: this role owns both the interface design and how it talks to the GPU infrastructure.
  • Full-stack experience: users get one consistent experience from screen to cluster.

Working Norms at Zettabyte

  • Bias to action: deliver drafts quickly, then iterate on feedback
  • Be precise: double-check numbers and facts; sloppy analysis creates downstream cost
  • Make it usable: package outputs for decision-making, not data dumps
  • Own the process: whoever drives a deliverable manages stakeholders and timelines
  • Learn the ecosystem: understand GPUs, cluster operations and the buyer landscape

Details

  • Workplace: Hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 days remote, Palo Alto
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Compensation: USD 170,000 to 220,000 a year base salary, plus equity
