The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a dependable, professional Undergraduate Student Worker to assist with daily front-office operations. This position serves as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors and provides administrative support to help ensure efficient departmental operations.
This role is ideal for a student who is organized, customer-service oriented, and interested in gaining experience in a professional office environment.
Responsibilities:Front Desk Support
Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and general inquiries
Provide basic information about departmental offices, classrooms, and services
Administrative Support
Assist with filing, scanning, copying, and organizing documents
Help prepare materials for meetings, events, or faculty activities
Support scheduling and room reservations as needed
Operational Assistance
Distribute mail and packages within the department
Assist with maintaining office supply inventory
Support departmental events, workshops, or seminars when needed
Professional Conduct
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
Represent the department in a professional and positive manner
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by departmental staff
Previous office, receptionist, or customer service experience
Strong organizational and time management skills
Familiarity with Auburn campus resources and systems
