Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely operate a wheel loader or front-end loader to transport bulk aggregates from stockpiles and load them into the plant's feed hoppers.
- Stockpile Management: Organize and maintain the layout of the plant yard, ensuring different materials do not mix and are stored safely without contamination.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections, routine preventative maintenance (greasing, fluid checks), and minor mechanical repairs on the loader.
- Inventory Monitoring: Keep track of raw material levels and communicate with the plant manager with incoming material deliveries.
- Site Housekeeping: Keep the plant premises clean, remove spills, and help keep work zones free of hazards in compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 1-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically a front-end loader, in a construction or aggregate environment.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Safety & Compliance: An understanding of OSHA and MSHA safety guidelines.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb in and out of heavy machinery, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsible for operating a front-end loader to load and manage raw materials like sand, gravel, and stone into the batch plant bins. They ensure continuous, efficient material supply while maintaining site safety and equipment readiness.
