    Position Summary

    We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join a local medical practice. The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in providing excellent customer service while supporting daily office operations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
    • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
    • Verify patient information and update records accurately.
    • Check patients in and out for appointments.
    • Collect copays and process payments as needed.
    • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
    • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and staff.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, emails, and faxes.
    • Assist with filing, scanning, and other administrative duties.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Previous receptionist, customer service, administrative, or medical office experience preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Skills

    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
    • Insurance verification and patient scheduling experience.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
    • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment throughout the workday.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
