    Front Desk Receptionist | Insurance Career Track

    Santa Fe, NM | Temp-to-Hire | $22–$24/hour

    Looking for a job that can turn into a career?

    One of New Mexico’s largest independently owned insurance companies is looking for a personable, polished, and dependable professional to join its Santa Fe office. You’ll start at the front desk, becoming a familiar and trusted point of contact for clients and visitors, while learning the insurance business from an experienced team.

    For the right person, this role can grow into a licensed Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative (CSR) position. Previous insurance experience is welcome, but it is not required. The company will provide the resources and support you need to become licensed, including study materials, exam fees, and paid study time.

    This is a great fit for someone with strong customer service skills who is ready to move beyond a traditional receptionist role and develop a professional career.

    Compensation & Benefits

    $22–$24/hour, depending on experience

    Upon direct hire, benefits include:

    • Medical and dental insurance, with the company paying 70% of the employee premium and 50% of dependent premiums

    What You’ll Do

    You’ll begin with a strong focus on reception, customer service, and administrative support while gradually gaining exposure to the insurance side of the business.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Serving as the first point of contact for the Santa Fe office, including greeting visitors and answering and directing calls

    • Providing responsive, professional service to clients

    • Assisting with client requests for certificates, documents, and other information

    • Supporting policy renewals and new accounts

    • Maintaining accurate and organized client files

    • Assisting producers with client accounting, reconciliation, and invoicing

    • Communicating with clients, producers, and underwriters

    • Providing general administrative and office support

    • Serving as backup for other members of the team as needed

    • Learning commercial insurance operations with the goal of moving into a licensed CSR role

    Desired Profile

    You don’t need to arrive knowing the insurance industry. You do need to be someone who enjoys working with people, communicates professionally, learns quickly, and can be counted on to follow through.

    We’re looking for:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Previous reception, administrative, or customer service experience in a professional environment

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

    • Comfort learning new software and systems

    • An outgoing, organized, and service-oriented approach

    • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

    • Willingness to travel to Albuquerque for initial training

    • Willingness to study for and pass the applicable insurance licensing exam, with costs and study support provided by the employer
