Patient Communication:
Act as a primary point of contact for patients and their families, addressing their inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing necessary information.
Explain treatment, insurance, medical notes, prescriptions, and billing procedures ensuring they understand their document requirements.
Care Coordination:
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and allied health staff, to ensure the proper coordination of patient care.
Monitor and update patient records to reflect their current information as received.
Appointment Scheduling:
Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as needed, considering the availability of healthcare providers and the urgency of the patient''s condition.
Follow up with patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and document requirements.
Insurance Verification:
Verify patients'' insurance coverage and assist them with understanding their insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
Process insurance claims and coordinate billing with the billing department.
Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patients'' needs and concerns within the healthcare system, ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
Help patients access necessary resources and community services.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all interactions and care coordination activities in the EMR and in the correct file.
