Grand Ledge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Freshman Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position involves fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes, developing their skills on and off the court, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and a commitment to the growth and development of young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that enhance player skills and teamwork.
• Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competition.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and player development.
• Monitor player attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to ensure a cohesive athletic program.
• Organize and manage team events, including games, tournaments, and community outreach activities.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to promote individual and team improvement.
• Ensure adherence to all school and athletic department policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience or playing experience in basketball, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Availability for evening and weekend practices and games during the season.
