Freight Rate Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Freight Rate Coordinator in Brunswick, OH. This role is ideal for logistics professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to ensuring freight moves smoothly and efficiently.

As a Freight Rate Coordinator, you will work closely with carriers, brokers, customers, warehouses, and internal teams to manage transportation rates and support inbound and outbound shipping activities. Your expertise will help optimize freight operations and provide excellent customer service to clients.
 


Hours:

• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Pay:

• $20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments, including dock scheduling and LTL freight transportation.
• Obtain shipment requirements, delivery deadlines, and carrier quotes; compare options and secure approvals.
• Support parcel and freight quoting by utilizing carrier software to rate, schedule, and manage shipments.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading (BOLs) and other required records.
• Track shipments, resolve delivery delays, shipping exceptions, customer complaints, lost items, and damage claims.
• Communicate shipment status and carrier performance updates with carriers, customers, management, and internal departments.
• Support purchasing and logistics operations while performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment supporting shipping, receiving, and customer service operations.
• Experience working with parcel and LTL carriers, including shipment coordination and tracking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across departments and with external partners.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Previous experience with carrier freight systems
• Understanding of LTL freight processes
• Background in transportation, logistics, and customer service

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
