FREELANCE Junior Designer

We're looking for a passionate and thoughtful Junior Designer to support our creative team at SpecialGuest on a project basis. This is a freelance role and might have the potential of being full time in the future. 

Someone with a strong eye for design, a curiosity for ideas, and a genuine love for making things. You'll help bring ideas to life across campaigns, presentations, social content, and everything in between.

We're a small, collaborative team, so you'll get to work on a wide range of projects, from exploring new visual directions to crafting the final details.

What You'll Do

• Help develop visual directions, moodboards, and design explorations for new projects.
• Design and execute creative assets across client campaigns, brand identities, and digital platforms.
• Design clear, visually compelling presentations, with a strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual storytelling.
• Work closely with art directors and the creative team to bring ideas from concept to execution, ensuring a high level of craft and consistency across deliverables.
• Collaborate on creating engaging content for SpecialGuest's Instagram and LinkedIn, helping maintain and grow the agency's social presence.
• Support agency creative projects, including award submissions, PR materials, and internal initiatives.
• Explore new design tools, techniques, and creative approaches.

What We're Looking For

• 0–3 years of design experience, or a strong portfolio that demonstrates your skills.
• A solid foundation in graphic design, especially typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• Someone who enjoys exploring new ideas, solving creative problems, and refining the details.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Slides.
• An interest in social media platforms, content creation, and internet culture.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple projects.
• Curious, proactive, collaborative, and open to feedback.

Nice to Have

• Experience or interest in motion design, video editing, or illustration.
• An interest in experimenting with AI tools, vibe coding, and emerging creative technologies.
