Job Title: Fraud Investigation Analyst
Location: Charlotte, NC
Pay: $30-$35/ hour
 
This position works to support the enterprise fraud investigation team (EFSI) in developing a best-in-class fraud prevention, detection and response program. This is an entry-level investigator position expected to demonstrate high motivation and utilize basic business, research, and communication skills as the candidate develops sound investigative knowledge and practices in support of program to identify and mitigate fraud risk in the automotive finance portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
  • With supervision, provide basic fraud investigative support to the Automotive Finance Line of Business.
  • Investigate external financial crimes, document findings, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Involves handling all aspects of the investigation and normally requires analysis and research to resolve issues.
  • Utilize sound judgment and basic knowledge of financial crime investigative tools/techniques to establish an investigative plan;initiate investigation by gathering facts and evidence;and prepare confidential investigative reports.
  • Develop fundamental knowledge and awareness of investigative techniques, privacy laws, bank regulations, and investigation and security incident handling policy and procedure.
  • Develop a working knowledge of an automotive finance line of business operating practices and policies.
  • Build working relationships with key industry groups and governmental agencies.
  • Work with EFSI analytics personnel to disposition existing fraud strategies and ensure they meet false-positive and detection-rate criteria.
Qualifications
  • Highly motivated learner focused on progressing through a career in fraud and security risk management.
  • Bachelor's Degree desirable;degree in a related discipline, such as criminal justice, risk management, business, or law highly desirable.
  • A combination of education and relevant, successful work experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • Prior work experience in security, investigations, risk management, law enforcement, or similar areas is a plus.
  • Membership in an investigative association, such as CFE or CFCI, is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Financial Crimes Investigator, or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) are strongly preferred.
  • Experience or training in interviewing techniques, testifying in front of tribunals, or report writing is a plus
  • Experience using data analytics or conducting process control reviews a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
  • Strong Windows-based PC skills required
  • Ability to assimilate new information and incorporate it into future actions a must
