Description

Work Location: Owego, NY. This position is primarily onsite in Owego, working at the engineer's desk or in a laboratory environment. Occasional remote work may be available after the candidate is fully trained.

Ability to Obtain Security Clearance.

Position Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced FPGA Verification Engineer to support the development and certification of safety-critical avionics hardware.
  • This role is primarily focused on FPGA verification and will support activities required for DO-254 compliance, including requirements analysis, test development, simulation, execution, coverage analysis, and verification reporting.
  • The engineer will work closely with design, systems, and certification teams to ensure FPGA designs meet stringent DO-254 Level A requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform FPGA verification activities for safety-critical avionics hardware.
  • Analyze requirements and develop verification strategies and test procedures.
  • Develop and execute simulation-based verification and test activities.
  • Perform coverage analysis and back-annotation of verification results.
  • Support FPGA design, simulation, verification, integration, and test.
  • Work with Systems Architects, RF/Analog and Digital Circuit Designers, and ASIC/FPGA Engineers.
  • Support high-speed digital, DSP, communication, networking, and SoC-based FPGA products.
  • Support HIL testing and laboratory verification activities.
  • Contribute to automation and scripting efforts to improve FPGA development and verification processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Support certification activities and work with certification teams as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with FPGA development and verification.
  • Experience with DO-254, preferably Level A safety-critical environments.
  • Experience with FPGA tools such as: Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Synopsys Synplify
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with HDL simulators, waveform viewers, and coverage tools.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test setups.
  • Experience with test equipment such as JTAG and logic analyzers.
  • Experience with version control and configuration management.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams.

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency with UVM.
  • Proficiency with C.
  • Experience with FAA or EASA certification audits.
  • Experience with DSP, high-speed digital design, high-speed communications, and SoC-based FPGA platforms.
  • Experience with COTS-based control platforms and embedded processors on FPGA platforms.
  • Experience developing automation/scripts to improve FPGA development and verification.
