    Job Title: FPGA/Firmware Engineer

    Location: Middletown, RI (Onsite)

    Visa: U.S. Citizenship Required (must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance)

    Project Description:
    Seeking an FPGA/Firmware Engineer to join the Torpedo Systems Group, taking ownership of FPGA development supporting mission-critical torpedo systems. This is a full-lifecycle role, from architecture through verification, delivery, and field troubleshooting, with direct customer-facing responsibility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive design, verification, and documentation for FPGA developments from concept to completion
    • Contribute to system architecture, simulation, and detailed design decisions
    • Define module interfaces and lead key aspects of device design and simulation
    • Evaluate the full process flow: high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization
    • Verify test results and analyze system performance
    • Present requirements, designs, and results to management, engineering teams, and customers
    • Help shape and improve FPGA development processes across the organization
    • Apply engineering standards, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
    • Support onsite installation, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for delivered products

    Mandatory Skills:

    • U.S. Citizenship required; must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ years
    • Ability to pass a background check (criminal, credit, education, employment, drug test)
    • Prior experience contributing to new theories/methods in FPGA engineering
    • Expert knowledge of Software Source Control tools (Git preferred)
    • Proven hardware troubleshooting experience (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators)
    • Experience working in a Linux environment
    • Experience writing in C and multithreaded programming
    • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
