    Job Title : FPGA Firmware Consultant
    Duration: 6+ Months
    Location: Remote

    Position Overview

    We are looking for a highly skilled FPGA Firmware Consultant to contribute to the development of advanced aviation security and imaging systems, including X-ray and CT technologies. This role requires deep expertise in FPGA development, high-speed digital hardware, embedded systems, and data acquisition solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative engineering environment and have experience supporting products from concept through production.
    Core Responsibilities
    • Design, develop, and enhance next-generation aviation security and imaging platforms
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and field service organizations
    • Create and maintain detailed hardware designs, schematics, PCB layouts, and system-level documentation
    • Support hardware/software integration and ensure seamless interaction between embedded components and networking systems
    • Develop technical specifications, design recommendations, and implementation strategies for new and existing products
    • Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
    • Participate in prototype development, testing, and transition to production environments
    • Assist in performance optimization, reliability improvements, and issue resolution for deployed systems
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
    • 10+ years of experience designing and developing high-performance digital hardware systems
    • Strong FPGA development experience using VHDL
    • Hands-on expertise with high-speed digital design, embedded hardware, and data acquisition systems
    • Deep understanding of clock domain crossing (CDC), timing closure, asynchronous data handling, and signal integrity concepts
    • Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, high-speed routing, and board-level debugging
    • Knowledge of interfaces and communication standards including LVDS, Channel Link, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C
    • Experience integrating third-party IP cores into FPGA architectures
    • Familiarity with MCU-based system design and embedded integration
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills
    • Proven ability to work effectively within fast-paced, cross-functional engineering teams
