FP&A Analyst

Location: Philadelphia, PA 19154 (Onsite)

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 + Bonus

About the Opportunity

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable organization to identify an FP&A Analyst for its corporate finance team. This position will play a critical role in driving profitability through gross margin analysis, freight cost optimization, vendor rebate management, and strategic financial planning.

The ideal candidate will serve as a key business partner to Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Branch Leadership by providing actionable financial insights that support business decisions, improve operational efficiency, and maximize financial performance across a multi-location distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze gross margin performance by Branch, customer, vendor, product category, and salesperson

  • Identify margin leakage and provide recommendations to improve profitability

  • Develop and maintain customer, product, and vendor profitability reporting

  • Support pricing initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and profitability assessments

  • Analyze inbound and outbound freight spending and identify cost recovery and optimization opportunities

  • Partner with Operations and Logistics teams to improve freight efficiency and reduce transportation costs

  • Track vendor rebate program performance and attainment levels

  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Vendor Management teams to maximize rebate earnings and profitability

  • Support monthly financial reviews, variance analysis, and management reporting

  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

  • Develop financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools to enhance business visibility

  • Present financial findings, trends, and recommendations to Finance and Operational Leadership

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting, analytics, and decision support

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and strategic recommendations to support organizational objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Pricing Analysis, Distribution Finance, Supply Chain Finance, or related financial analysis roles

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial reporting

  • Experience analyzing gross margin, pricing, freight costs, and operational performance metrics

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environments

  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools

  • Exposure to pricing strategy, vendor rebate programs, and transportation cost analysis

  • Experience building dashboards and automating reporting processes

  • Knowledge of large-scale operational or multi-location business environments
