Your Impact As A Founding DVM Partner

This is more than a leadership role; it's an opportunity to build and lead a practice with the full backing of an established network. As the Founding Partner & Lead Veterinarian, you will be the cornerstone of the hospital, responsible for establishing a gold-standard medical culture, mentoring your team, and driving the business's success as a true owner. • Build a Thriving Practice Culture: You will be the architect of a client-first, collaborative culture, setting the tone for medical excellence and teamwork from day one. • Lead and Mentor Your Medical Team: Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of veterinarians and support staff building a hospital culture that attracts top talent and delivers outstanding urgent care to the growing pet-owning communities of Madison's west side, Middleton, Verona, and beyond.
• Drive Medical and Surgical Excellence: Establish the hospital's standard of care, ensuring every patient receives exceptional medicine while mentoring your team in general surgery, dentistry, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. You'll build a reputation as the trusted veterinary destination for pets across greater Madison.
• Partner in Business Ownership: Work directly with your Hospital Manager to manage the hospital's financial performance, making strategic decisions that drive top-line revenue growth and position the hospital as a long-term community resource.
• Shape the Future of Veterinary Care in Madison: Help establish a purpose-built hospital designed to meet the needs of today's pet owners. With high foot traffic from a large retail center, direct access to major roadways, and pylon signage visible to tens of thousands of daily commuters, you'll have the platform to build something that lasts.

Built Different: The Livewell Model

Each Livewell location is carefully selected based on strong demographic, market, and growth data, to give each Founding hire and the hospital the best chance at long-term success. Livewell Animal Urgent Care of Madison will be located at Prairie Towne Center, the premier community shopping destination on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin.

Prairie Towne Center is anchored by Metro Market (Kroger), Old Navy, and Mounds Pet Supply - and shadow-anchored by the first Target to open in the Madison market. Pylon signage is available along all three major roadways, giving the hospital exceptional visibility and reach.

The location sits in the heart of a high-income, established residential area with a strong suburban office daytime population. The West Towne trade area where Prairie Towne Center sits is consistently the first entry point for major retailers establishing a presence in Madison, signaling both market strength and long-term commercial stability.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and a license in good standing to practice.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a veterinarian, with a strong foundation in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
• Willingness to work on a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, in line with the hospital's extended hours.
• A compassionate and collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor and develop associate veterinarians and support staff.
• An entrepreneurial spirit and a strong understanding of what it takes to run a successful practice.
• Previous formal leadership or management experience is a significant plus.
