iOS Developer (Founding) — Venice Beach CA, Hybrid
About us:
Our partner is a repeat-founder team building a consumer social + health product. Tagline: Healthmaxxing With Friends. Alpha users love it, and we are ready to hire our first founding full-stack engineer.
The role:
Own the iOS app end to end. Design the architecture, ship delightful UI, and make the app feel fast, reliable, and social. Partner closely with backend to shape APIs, real-time interactions, and data flows. This is staff level and up with real product and design influence.
What you’ll do:
- Build and ship Swift and SwiftUI features that drive daily habit and retention
- Shape app architecture, navigation, state, modularization, and offline behavior
- Integrate HealthKit, Apple Watch, notifications, background tasks, and app extensions
- Partner with backend on real-time feeds, push, WebSockets or SSE, and API design
You might be a fit if you have:
- 3–10+ years building consumer iOS apps users love, from prototype to App Store
- Deep Swift and SwiftUI, async/await, Combine, and app architecture patterns (MVVM or Redux-style)
- Experience with HealthKit or similar device integrations, push, deeplinks, and permissions
- Strong product taste, accessibility awareness, and a habit of measuring outcomes
- Comfort in small, fast teams where you own decisions and ship weekly
Nice to have:
- WatchKit or watchOS complications
- AVFoundation or short-video capture and playback
- Security and privacy for health-adjacent data
Location and setup:
Hybrid in Venice Beach. West Coast preferred. Relocation supported within 6–12 months. Competitive comp with strong equity.
