Skiffra is building the intelligence layer for the physical world. We translate complex, real-world environments into clear, actionable data. While most AI companies focus on digital industries, we design AI native orchestration systems for the sectors that extract, move, and build ecosystems around us. We turn messy, high stakes operations into intelligent, adaptive workflows that improve decisions in real time. Our first proving ground is mining and natural resources, but the platform is modular by design and built to scale into any industry where decisions are expensive and the consequences are real.
Founding Front End Engineer
What You’ll Do
Own frontend architecture and implementation for Skiffra’s customer-facing products across mobile, tablet, and desktop, partnering closely with product and design
Build responsive interfaces for people working in the field on tablets and phones: bad lighting, gloved hands, time pressure, spotty connectivity, and no room for error
Build end-to-end features alongside AI, data, and backend engineers, shaping services, integrations, and API contracts
Turn ambiguous, operationally complex problems and AI outputs into clear, intuitive interfaces
Prototype quickly, watch real users in the field, and iterate on what you learn
Establish component patterns, automated testing, accessibility, performance, and engineering standards from scratch
Evolve the visual system and interaction patterns with product and design
Shape hiring and engineering culture as part of the founding team
What We’re Looking For
Mobile-first expertise: a track record shipping responsive web apps that perform as well on phones and tablets in the field as on desktop
Built for unreliable networks: resilient apps that handle intermittent connectivity through local caching, retry behavior, and recovery from interrupted sessions
Deep React and TypeScript skills, with polished, customer-facing web apps in production
Sharp product and UX judgment: you spot confusing interactions, improve incomplete designs, and collaborate fluidly in Figma
Skill building data-dense, high-stakes interfaces (dashboards, real-time monitoring, alerts, complex workflows) with sound data-visualization instincts
Comfort designing for asynchronous and AI-assisted workflows: streaming responses, long-running tasks, evidence, confidence, approvals, and human overrides
Ability to take a feature from concept to production with minimal direction
Solid command of integrating with APIs, asynchronous services, and data-intensive systems
Working knowledge of accessibility: semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, focus management, screen-reader support, and WCAG
Effective debugging across browser, network, API, and production environments
Clear communicator with a bias toward action and simplicity, comfortable in ambiguity
Portfolio or work samples showing polished mobile and desktop interfaces, dashboards, data visualization, and complex workflows
Nice to Have
Next.js and modern frontend tooling
AI-augmented or agentic products
Component libraries or design systems at scale
Startup, founding-engineer, or zero-to-one background
Software for industrial, operational, or field users
Real-time data, streaming interfaces, and complex application state
We value speed, clarity, and technical rigor. We favor simple systems over clever ones, prototypes over over-planning, and ownership over handoffs. You’ll work directly with founders and ship things that matter quickly.
