    Job Description

    Manage systems and processes related to Customs Tariffs, Import & Export Classifications and Compliance, Denied Party Screening (SAP GTS), Preferential Status Determination and other regulations and agreements related to Trade Compliance for Imports and Exports.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor and audit existing Trade Compliance procedures in EMEA and enhance where needed with the aim for one common documentation and processing standard. Develop and improve logistics processes in Trade Compliance to minimize Grace total cost of ownership.
    • Act as focus point for Trade Compliance related questions and issues and liaise with TC colleagues in other regions to support the business units getting timely resolutions.
    • Monitor changes in Trade Compliance legislation, liaise with Product Stewardship Function and validate and communicate those throughout the Grace organization.
    • Supporting the handling of special procedures (e.g. export with returned goods, temporary export).
    • Act as knowledge carrier for Trade Compliance matters, give guidance and training to other functions like Sales, Product Management, Forwarding groups.
    • Setup on import-procedures and transit shipment-procedures and co-ordinate with all stakeholders in terms of customs clearance with forwarders, agents, customers and sales. Clarify problems related to these kinds of shipments.
    • Determine and monitor the preferential status of products manufactured and sold by Grace EMEA in line with valid Grace -, legal – and Custom’s regulations. Process and organize LTSDs for such products and provide these documents to customers.
    • Process Intrastat Declarations for Export and together with Finance the declarations for imports for related EU-business.
    • Be the Logistics contact person for the Custom’s authorities as well as for audits, responsible for Export Declarations and proof linked to VAT and Customs regulations.
    • Organize and coordinate domestic and international shipments, freight capacity booking and transportation scheduling via EDI and carrier platforms
    • Confirm dispatch and delivery dates with carriers and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders regarding shipment status and potential disruptions.
    • Liaise closely with Planning, Customer Service and logistics service providers to ensure efficient order execution and to prevent delays, conflicts or service issues.
    • Prepare, review, and coordinate all required export documentation, certificates and shipping paperwork in compliance with customer requirements and international trade regulations.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5 years of experience within the industry after finishing education
    • very good SAP and SAP/GTS knowledge
    • very good English knowledge
    • knowledge of Customs Tariff Classification of Chemical Products (HTS) and referential rules and application

    Required Education

    Completed vocational training in a commercial discipline, preferably as Freight Forwarding Clerk (Speditionskaufmann/-frau) / Industrial Clerk (Industriekaufmann/-frau) or an equivalent qualification.

    Optional: Verkehrsfachwirt/-in: Bachelor Professional of Transport Management (CCI) or Betriebswirt/-in: Master Professional in Business Management (CCI)
