    About the Role

This is a Forward Deployed Engineer role at a Y Combinator–backed AI startup building agentic platforms for the acquisitions and private equity space. You'll sit at the intersection of customer success and product, owning deployments end-to-end as a core member of a small, high-autonomy team reporting directly to the C-suite.

    What You'll Do

    • Own customer deployments end-to-end — scoping, business logic translation, data ingestion, pipeline delivery, and ongoing optimization — working directly with mid-market to large-cap operators.

    • Build and extend an agentic AI platform in direct collaboration with the core software engineering team.

    • Translate complex, real-world business problems into autonomous software solutions.

    • Support go-to-market efforts by joining sales calls and identifying customer expansion opportunities.

    • Work with high autonomy on analytical problems that demand both technical depth and strong business judgment.

    What We're Looking For

    • 3+ years of professional experience in consulting, finance, data engineering, or analytics — ideally blending technical and business-facing work.

    • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, querying, and automation.

    • Hands-on experience designing and delivering data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data integration systems end-to-end.

    • Familiarity with data warehousing tools and concepts (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data modeling for multi-source environments.

    • Experience building with LLM APIs and AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain) — personal projects count.

    • Excellent communication and business acumen — comfortable engaging with operators, finance leaders, and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Exposure to private equity, roll-ups, M&A, or holding company operations is a strong plus.

    • Scrappy, action-oriented, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

    • US citizenship required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

    Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $110,000 – $150,000 USD annually.
