Shape the Molds Behind Every Great Pour
As a Formwork Fabrication Carpenter in our INF production shop, you’ll turn sketches into precise, build-ready molds. Your craft powers every successful pour on our lines.
A day in this role
- Start by reviewing the Carpenter Shop Lead’s sketches and drawings for the day’s formwork.
- Stage materials (Styrofoam, 2x4’s, PVC pipe, and more) in the Carpenter Shop to prep for builds.
- Measure and mark stock to exact dimensions using a tape and layout tools.
- Cut and size forming components with table saws, radial saws, jigsaws, circular saws, and other shop equipment.
- Create bevels for narrow or wide reveals and fit reveals or other formwork into INF forms.
- Refurbish, modify, and clean used formwork so it can be salvaged for additional pours.
- End your shift with a tidy, safe work area.
Tools you’ll put to work
Hammer, tape measure, table saw, radial saw, jigsaw, nail gun, staple gun, circular saw, shop cards, and related shop equipment.
Materials you’ll handle
Plywood, PVC pipe, 2x4’s, plastic wood, nails, staples, Styrofoam, and similar materials.
How we work together
Reports to the Carpenter Shop Lead and operates with some supervision. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
What you bring
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or three to six months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language: Comfortable reading safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures; able to write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings (customers, clients, and teammates).
- Math: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning: Apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, and diagrammed instructions; resolve problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical expectations
While performing the duties of this job, you’ll occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. You will regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision needs include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
