Position Description: Forklift Operator Company: Solo World Partners Department: Operations Location: Ypsilanti, MI Position Type: Temporary Reports To: Operations Manager/ Warehouse Supervisor Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm Position Summary The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading and unloading material from trucks. This position requires experience operating a propane-powered sit-down forklift and safely handling heavy automotive parts, racks, and other large or awkward loads. Responsibilities • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety rules, and work instructions at all times. • Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift. • Load, unload, move, stage material and racks. • Verify inbound and outbound materials for quantity, labels, condition, and documentation. • Identify and report damaged materials or shipping/receiving discrepancies. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance. Qualifications • Prior sit-down forklift experience required. • Experience handling heavy automotive parts, racks, or similar industrial materials required. • Prior warehouse, dock, loading, unloading, shipping, or receiving experience preferred. • Ability to check loads for accuracy, condition, labels, quantities, and documentation. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions • Strong commitment to safety and safe equipment operation. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Dependable attendance and punctuality required. • Basic communication skills required. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. • Ability to successfully complete required forklift training and evaluation. Assignment Requirements Due to the requirements of the Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) facility, candidates must: • Successfully complete a background check. • Successfully complete a drug screen. • Be legally authorized to work in the United States. |
