Shipping Forklift Operator – Lumber Mill

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Forklift Operator to safely transport, load, unload, stack, and organize lumber and other materials in a fast-paced lumber mill environment.

This position plays an important role in keeping production and shipping operations moving efficiently. The ideal candidate has previous experience operating heavy-duty forklifts, understands forklift safety procedures, and is comfortable handling large, heavy materials with accuracy and care.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy-duty forklift to move lumber and materials throughout the facility
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Stack and organize lumber and materials in designated areas
• Ensure loads are positioned accurately and securely
• Perform routine forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance
• Follow all established safety procedures and protocols
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Communicate and work closely with production employees and supervisors to keep operations running smoothly

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of forklift operating experience preferred
• Heavy-duty forklift experience strongly preferred
• Previous lumber mill, sawmill, or industrial experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of forklift operation and safety practices
• Ability to safely handle large, heavy materials with precision
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
