Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Material Handler to support shipping and material handling operations in Oklahoma City. This position primarily operates a sit-down forklift to move, organize, and stack steel beams in preparation for shipment.

The ideal candidate has proven forklift experience, is safety-focused, and is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. This position offers significant overtime for candidates looking for consistent hours and earning potential.




Required Experience & Skills

• Proven sit-down forklift operating experience required
• Previous material handling, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
• Ability to safely move and stack large materials
• Strong attention to safety and awareness of surrounding equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Flexible availability for frequent overtime
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and established material-handling procedures




Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move and stack steel beams
• Organize and position beams in preparation for shipment
• Stage materials for loading onto trailers
• Assist with proper placement and organization of finished materials
• Operate overhead or bridge cranes when qualified and assigned
• Monitor work areas for potential hazards and maintain safe material-handling practices
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety policies and equipment operating procedures
• Perform additional material handling and production duties as assigned




Preferred Qualifications

• Previous steel, manufacturing, or heavy industrial material handling experience
• Overhead or bridge crane experience
• Warehouse or shipping experience
• Experience handling large or heavy materials with powered equipment
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply




Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive movement
• Ability to safely enter and exit forklift equipment throughout the shift
• Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding material-handling work throughout extended shifts




Work Environment

• Outdoor industrial and material handling environment
• Regular operation of sit-down forklifts around steel beams and heavy materials
• Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong safety awareness and attention to equipment movement
• Frequent overtime based on production and shipping demands
