Forklift Operator

Emerald is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse, inventory, and production operations. This role is responsible for the safe movement of materials, chassis components, finished goods, and incoming/outgoing shipments throughout the facility and yard. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience operating industrial equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in warehouse and yard environments
• Load, unload, transport, stage, and organize materials and products
• Assist with receiving incoming deliveries and verifying shipment accuracy
• Support inventory control activities, including counts and material tracking
• Deliver materials to production departments in a timely manner
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with 5S and safety standards
• Inspect forklifts daily and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately
• Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transport
• Assist with yard organization and chassis/material movement as needed
• Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and operational policies
• Collaborate with warehouse, receiving, procurement, and production teams to support workflow efficiency
• Complete required documentation and inventory transactions accurately

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
• Valid forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire
• Experience with sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment preferred
• Basic inventory and material handling knowledge
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout shift
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures
• Ability to safely operate industrial equipment for extended periods

Work Environment:

This position operates in a manufacturing, warehouse, and yard environment with exposure to moving equipment, production activity, varying weather conditions, and industrial noise levels. Proper PPE is required at all times.
