Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join an industrial maintenance team in the Owasso area. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining forklifts, pallet trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate has a strong heavy equipment maintenance background with hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting experience. This role requires someone who can independently diagnose equipment problems, complete repairs, and perform preventive maintenance while maintaining strict safety standards.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience required
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems
Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Experience working with forklifts or other industrial material-handling equipment
Ability to accurately complete work orders and maintenance documentation
Strong attention to safety and equipment reliability
Must successfully complete required pre-employment drug screening
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial equipment
Service forklifts, pallet trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and related equipment
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment problems
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
Identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components and complete necessary repairs
Read and interpret equipment schematics, technical manuals, and machine documentation
Complete maintenance work orders and required data entry accurately and on time
Monitor equipment condition and report significant maintenance or safety concerns
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in clean and safe condition
Follow all company and OSHA safety standards
Properly use required PPE when working with tools, machinery, and hazardous materials
Perform additional equipment maintenance and repair duties as assigned
Equipment Experience
Candidates may work on equipment including:
Forklifts
Pallet trucks
Boom lifts
Scissor lifts
Material-handling equipment
Other industrial mobile equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree in diesel, automotive, industrial maintenance, or a related field
Previous forklift mechanic or material-handling equipment experience
Experience repairing electric and internal combustion forklifts
Advanced hydraulic troubleshooting experience
Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience
Experience maintaining equipment in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for 8 or more hours per day
Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and equipment access
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs unassisted using proper safety techniques
Sufficient visual acuity and depth perception to safely diagnose and repair equipment
Ability to safely operate tools and diagnostic equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working in conditions associated with industrial manufacturing and confined-space environments when required
Work Environment
Non-temperature-controlled industrial and metal fabrication environment
Exposure to loud noise, dust, dirt, metal particles, machinery, and industrial equipment
Required PPE includes hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA-compliant safety footwear
Paint masks, respirators, and additional protective equipment may be required depending on assigned work
Safety-focused environment requiring compliance with company and OSHA procedures
