Responsibilities:
Auburn University is seeking a Forestry Technician to support forestry research programs by performing a variety of technical and operational tasks. This position assists with activities that contribute to the successful implementation and support of research efforts within the forestry program.
This is a one-year limited-term position. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding.
- Collects, records, summarizes, and/or reports data on new and existing laboratory and/or field research projects.
- Plants, waters, fertilizes, and harvests trees and/or other plants for research and reforestation.
- May assist with the production of presentation and publication materials associated with collected data.
- May repair and maintain Dixon Center buildings and property.
- May operate and maintain heavy equipment such as tractors, bulldozers, and road graders.
- May assist with prescribed burning.
- May plant food plots for wildlife.
- May obtain tree and plot measurements for inventory and sale of forest products.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License
