    Nature of Work

    The Forensic Interviewer provides forensic interview services to all agency clients who are child

    victims of abuse, neglect, violence or who are drug-endangered or are a witness to violence or a

    crime. The Forensic Interviewer interacts with professionals from other disciplines and agencies

    involved in investigations involving children and/or the provision of services to children and

    their families. The Forensic Interviewer acts as one of the agency's liaisons to Mercer County's

    Multidisciplinary Investigative Team (MDIT) and all other investigative, court and child

    protection professionals who interact with the agency. The Forensic Interviewer may also act as

    the agency's liaison with other community partners when deemed necessary by the agency.

    Examples of Work

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Schedule and conduct neutral, fact-finding, developmentally appropriate investigative

    interviews of child victims.

    • Ensure recording of each forensic interview conducted at Child Protect. • Maintain accurate and

    up to date records and paperwork on all forensic interviews conducted at Child Protect.

    • Consult with MDIT members before and after interviews and coordinate case specific

    information sharing among the MDIT.

    • Attend and testify in court proceedings as necessary. • Obtain Forensic Interviewer certification

    and attend trainings as required by the agency.

    • Maintain client confidentiality.
    • Follow agency policies and procedures.
    • Ensure the maintenance of case tracking logs, client case notes and MDIT meeting notes.
    • Ensure collaboration with other agencies to enhance service delivery to child victims. •

    Attend all MDIT meetings and MDT meetings when requested.

    • Ensure the entry and updating of case tracking data entry information.
    • Attend additional community meetings as assigned by the Executive Director or the Direct

    Service Manager.

    • Assist with the agency's child abuse prevention education campaigns when necessary.
    • Maintain statistical data for all services provided at Child Protect.
    • Conduct public speaking engagements as assigned by the Executive Director or the Direct

    Service Manager.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    BA/BS, preferably in Human Services or Social Work-Substitution Revelant work experience of

    3 years or more. Experience in human services or social work is preferred. Experience in the

    child welfare system is highly preferred.

    Other Information

    The candidate cannot be listed on the child abuse

    registry, sex offender registry and must have no prior history of criminal behavior. The candidate

    must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. (A criminal

    background check and child abuse and sex offender registry checks will be conducted in

    accordance with the Volunteers for Children Act Public Law 105251.)
